John BOUCK Biography |
BOUCK, John, county treasurer; born at Independence, Ia., Oct. 27, 1861; son of John S. and Elizabeth D. (Elliott) Bouck; educated in public schools in Independence. Raised on farm and remained there until 28 years of age; located at Royalton, Minn., in fall of 1879, serving four years with C.W. & I.W. Bouck, in general store and grain elevator and as deputy postmaster; followed mercantile business for four years in Walker, Minn.; moved to Akeley in the spring of 1898, bought hotel and meat market which he still owns. Has been county treasurer of Hubbard County for two years. Republican. Member I.O.O.F. Married at Spooner, Wis., Jan 18, 1892, to Miss Celia E. Burk. Residence: Park Rapids, Minn.
