GUST A. MARSCHALL.

Gust A. Marschall, the popular and efficient postmaster of Parent Station, Minnesota, is one of the well known business men of that village and is one of the substantial citizens of Benton county, where he was born February 26, I876.

The parents of our subject, John and Josephine (Troufler) Marschall, were born in Germany. A further review of their lives appears later in this article.

Gust A. Marschall was born on his father’s farm in St. George township, Benton county, and he was reared there and received a good common school education. When he was thirteen years of age the father established a store at Parent Station, and after one year our subject purchased the business from his father and has since conducted the same. He was appointed postmaster in 1899 to succeed his father, who was postmaster for the six years prior to that date. Our subject now owns the store and postoffice building and carries a large stock of general merchandise and farm implements. He is one of the substantial business men of the town and is one of the rising young men of Benton county. He is a member of the Elks Lodge and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He is a member of the Catholic church.
