STRUCK BY A PRIEST.

A Benton County Father Turns Pugilist.

SAUK RAPIDS, May 30.—During the collecting of contributions in the Catholic church at Duelm, Benton county, James Kampa retired outside the church and lit his pipe. This so enraged the priest that he struck Kampa several times with his fist and with a club. A warrant was placed in the hands of an officer for his arrest, but he returned this afternoon without the prisoner. It is thought that some of his friends have secreted him or he has left for parts unknown. Rev. Pieffer, the priest, took a very prominent part in politics last fall. Considerable excitement was raised over the affair among the Catholics in this county.
