At Sauk Rapids the other night, the miller at Stanton's mill had his left hand badly mangled while attempting to clean out some of the cups of the elevator while in full motion—skin and flesh were scraped off to the bone. Sauk Rapids (Benton County) Press: On a late Sunday night a lot of drunken men broke into Mr. Skinner's residence, but met with a warm reception at the hands of Mrs. S., who vigorously used a club, driving them away. They then retreated to Mr. Chase's residence, using the vilest language, and making all sorts of threats, but were made to disperse by Sheriff Coates.
