SAUK RAPIDS, Sept. 6th, 1867.

EDITOR JOURNAL.--The Board of County Commisioners now in ???? have ordered the issue of Ten Thousand Dollars in County Bonds in aid of the building of a FREE BRIDGE across the Mississippi at Sauk Rapids.

At a meeting of the citizens of the County, at the County House last evening, called for the purpose of considering the propriety of the measure for the County, Mr. F.R. Dalano was presented and gave his views at length, of the feasibility of building the Bridge over the dam, which, he said, would be commenced immediately. The Water Power Company so construct the dam as to form piers for the bridge, saving a cost of five thousand dollars, in the expense of the bridge.

The Water Power Company take the bonds, and, with the five thousand dollars donated by the Rail Road, will put up the bridge so as to be ready for use by the first of March. At the meeting called for the purpose of considering the subject of having the bridge free, speeches were made by Hon. E.O. Hamlin, F.R. Delano, Esq., Rev. Hall, and Messrs. Sweet, Wood, Russell, Miller and Van Nest. The utmost enthusiasm prevailed, and there was not a dissenting voice to the issuing of the bonds and making the bridge free. The question of a toll bridge was brought up but met with no favor. So at last we are to have a free bridge at Sauk Rapids, over the turbulent waters of the Mississippi.
